Geologie is Clinical Grade Performance Skincare—and Honest About It.

There are a lot of skincare products that tout themselves as medical-grade, or clinical-grade. For many consumers, it can be really hard to understand what these labels really mean. Does it mean the product is better or more effective? Does it mean it’s going to be harsher on my skin? Or does it mean the product is just going to be more expensive? Unfortunately, there isn’t much regulation behind these labels. It’s basically an honor system from the product makers.

Here's how we look at it. If a product claims to be clinical grade or medical grade, it must have evidence it works. It can’t just be slapped on the label. At Geologie, you can trust that all of our products and systems are designed with the goal to get your skin healthier. How do we achieve that? First, we only pick active ingredients that we know work based on prior clinical and scientific testing. Second, we source them from places we trust and make sure they deliver results by getting deeper into the chemistry and the concentrations—an active will only work if its actually active and at the right amounts to make an impact. Third, we test the entire product ourselves in well conducted blinded studies at top medical centers so that our customers can feel confident Geologie delivers on its promises. These three steps all Geologie to go above and beyond other product makers that claim their products are medical grade or clinical grade.

But, there is a downside to the label of medical grade or clinical grade. Often times, these products can take things too far and lead to skin irritation and redness. This is also where Geologie comes in and shines. Yes, clinical grade or medical grade means effectiveness for us. But, we don’t forget that tolerability and gentleness are also really important—great skincare products don’t work in people who quit them after a few days. We’re proud to be able to find that sweet spot in results and skin tolerability. We’re clinical grade in terms of results while also giving our customers the confidence that our products are great to use too.

Often times, brands slap on a medical grade or clinical grade label with fancy packaging and think that tripling the price is a fair exchange. At Geologie, we believe our proven products should also be accessible and made for everyday use. We believe that skin health shouldn’t be a luxury.
